Dr John Scahill is a lecturer and researcher in the Department of Building and Civil Engineering in the Galway-Mayo School of Engineering at ATU.

John teaches on undergraduate and post graduate programmes on the Circular economy, BIM and Digital leadership, the SDGs, climate resilience and Education for Sustainability.

Johns research interests include the transition to the circular economy, Education for Sustainable Development (ESD), digital and innovative pedagogy and the use of the Change Laboratory as a methodology to implement change in organisational settings.

Prior to joining ATU John worked in the private sector as a consulting engineer and project manager. John holds a master’s degree in building services engineering and a PhD in Sustainability in Higher Education. He is a chartered member of Engineers Ireland and a Fellow of the Chartered Association of Building Engineers.
