Dr Aurora Dimache is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Engineering at Atlantic Technological University (ATU) Galway with over 10 years of experience in teaching and research. Her research interests lie in the area of quality management, lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, as well as sustainability, circularity and life cycle assessment. As a lecturer, she developed a particular interest in project-based learning as a teaching method for student engagement. Aurora has managed a number of European projects (Horizon 2020, FP7, Leonardo da Vinci, LIFE) and worked with numerous SMEs.

Prior to joining ATU and starting an academic career, Aurora developed extensive expertise in quality management, project management, reliability, cost analysis and environmental impact assessment working with renowned organisations (Thermo King, Engie) and SMEs (Alewijnse Retec Romania, Tsunami). Aurora holds a Six Sigma Green Belt certification from the American Society for Quality (ASQ). She obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University Politehnica Bucharest and a Bachelor’s degree in Business from the Academy of Business Studies Bucharest. Later, Aurora completed her Master’s and PhD in Engineering from ATU Galway (former GMIT) and a Master in Teaching and Learning from ATU Galway.
