This research, in the context of the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS), and the Sustainability Reporting Due Diligence Directive (SR3D), delves into sustainability reporting across the food supply chain. The double materiality underpinning these directives has the potential to fundamentally transform the Food Supply Chain, altering the value and viability of food companies. This research is poised to play a pivotal role in this transformative process.
The initial part of this research will be a comprehensive and systematic literature review. It will delve into Sustainability and the current state of sustainability reporting, the methodologies and frameworks employed, and their effectiveness. This thorough understanding of Sustainability and its reporting will help identify the gaps and weaknesses that will be the research focus, ensuring a solid foundation for the project.
